The Tuesday Lectures at HLSI
Lectures are held in the Victoria Hall on Tuesdays at 8.00pm. Doors open for members and for guests of Friends and Benefactors at 7.30pm. Non-members will be admitted at 7.50pm, space permitting. The hall is fitted with a RNID induction loop.
When the HLSI was founded in 1839, one of the first acts of the new management committee was to start a lecture series. This has continued, with very few interruptions, ever since. We aim to cover a wide range of topics: medicine and science, social and political issues, horticulture, history, education, literature, music and the fine arts. After more than 170 years, our lectures continue to attract a large audience.
