A Celebration of Spring

We will be ushering in the Spring with sparkling violin/viola duets and trios by Sibelius, Prokofiev, Dvorak and Kodaly played by three rising stars from the Royal Academy of Music.

Gabriel Bilbao, violin, is a Bolivian phenomenon whose many awards include first prize in the concerto competition at the (USA’s) National Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Music Institute.

Malgorzata Zwierzchowska is a Polish violinist/violist who has played all over Europe and collaborated on projects with members of Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and London Symphony Orchestra. She works with acclaimed conductors such as Mark Elder, Marin Alsop, John Wilson, Edward Gardner and Jukka-Pekka Saraste.

Rodrigo Checa, violin, has played with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and The English Concert, has toured Europe and Asia as part of a piano duo and is currently the leader of Audentia Ensemble, an extravagant orchestra based in London. He has performed in renowned venues such as the Berlin Konzerthaus and Wigmore  and played with remarkable musicians such as Maasaki Suzuki, Trevor Pinnock, Rachel Podger and John Wilson.

Zoltán Kodály (1882-1967) – Serenade for Two Violins and Viola 20’
