Following their sold out concert in March 2020, the renowned FSQ return to play Schubert’s final quartet, the monumental, otherworldly, elusive G Major. The first half of the programme features Rachmaninov’s lyrical first string quartet along with lighter pieces to serve as an amuse-bouche for the main feast.
Introduction to the Schubert’s G Major quartet. The FSQ has kindly offered to conduct an overview session highlighting the background, themes and complexities of the four movements. The session will take place in Victoria Hall from 6-6:45pm. There will be an additional charge for this part that will include nibbles and drinks between the workshop and the concert starting at 7:30pm.
