In this course Peter will explore characteristics of Surrealistic Art in particular settings. Students who have taken Peter’s courses before will know that there is usually a very personal context. Enthusiasts for Peter’s courses will not be disappointed: this course begins with the day Peter spent with Dali. Peter will make 5 weekly presentations following the outline above; week 6 will allow time to return to favourite paintings/drawings, following questions and suggestions from students.

Dr Peter Webb
Peter has degrees from Cambridge and London universities and a doctorate from the University of East Anglia. Peter enjoyed a long career in higher education at different universities, and has written several books on influential artists. He retired as Reader in History of 20th Century Art in 1996.
