Thomas Dalla Costa was awarded a PhD by Verona University for his dissertation on Venetian Renaissance art. He has a strong interest in the artists’ creative process, and the pivotal role of drawings to Venetian Renaissance workshops.

He has been Research Fellow for a number of institutions, including Save Venice Inc., for which he edited a book on Jacopo Tintoretto and contributed to the research for the exhibition Tintoretto 1519-2019 (Venice, September 2018-January 2019) and Tintoretto, Artist of Renaissance Venice (Washington, March-July 2019).

From February 2019 to December 2020 he was the Harry Weinrebe Curatorial Fellow at The National Gallery in London, where he was assistant curator for the show Titian: Love, Desire, Death (March 2020-January 2021) and was the main convener of the three-day online conference Poetry in paint: Titian’s late mythologies (November 2020).

He has recently published his first book, “Venere e Adone” di Tiziano: arte, cultura e società tra Venezia e l’Europa (Venice, April 2019). He is currently a Senior Art Specialist at Clarendon Fine Art Gallery.
